KOIN-CBS
KOIN has a long history of awards and recognition. In 2004 the station was awarded an International Health and Medical Award for “Everybody Has a Story: Caring for Our Aging Parents.” It also received the 2004 Red Cross Pacific Region’s “Media Partner of the Year.” In 2002 the station was a finalist for a National Emmy Award for Community Service. In 1998 and 1999 the station was awarded consecutive Television Station of the Year awards by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters. KOIN has also received numerous Emmy, Telly, BDA and AP Awards for news and marketing excellence.
WIAT-CBS 42
WIAT – CBS 42 has achieved tremendous growth over the past four years culminating in the November 2007 Nielsen rating period during which CBS 42 attained the highest ratings in station history. In addition to the amazing growth, CBS 42 was recently honored by the Alabama Broadcaster’s Association with six awards in the “2007 Large Market Television Category.” These include: Best Commercial Production, Best Station Promotion, Best Public Service Announcement, Best Feature Story, Best Reporter, and Service Project of the Year. In addition, the Associated Press bestowed Best Feature Story and Best Web-journalism honors to CBS 42.
